One facet of beauty is that it is ephemeral,
for example, the flower is made more beautiful by the fact that it is seasonal.
To demonstrate this quality of beauty, a box made of black, brilliant plexiglass in large-scale format was created.
The box contains fifty-four shelves made of transparent plexiglass, each of which showcased a single cube of ice.
The ice cubes contained crystals, which were illuminated by a light installation within the box.
With time, the ice melted, and the installation became a water feature.
Photography of ice, light, and prisms further highlight the transient nature of beauty.
